Rob Lanter, a native New Yorker, studied at the Berklee College of Music majoring in composition and guitar. He has scored several independent films, and has produced numerous recordings. One of Rob's main areas of interest and direction is as a jazz guitarist, continuing the legacy that Joe Pass had established presenting jazz guitar as a concert instrument. The first half of this concert will feature Rob's acoustic group, with original songs from the soon to be released album "A Life In Guitar". The songs contain thoughtful lyrics with beautiful harmonies covering jazz to rock to folk, all within an acoustic setting. The group consists of Rob Lanter on guitar and vocals, Laura McMillan on vocals, and Paul Avrutin on bass and vocals.

For the second half of the concert we'll have The Rob Lanter Trio, an instrumental jazz group featuring unique arrangements of jazz standards interspersed with original compositions composed by its members. The group consists of Rob Lanter on guitar, Tom McMillan on bass, and Tom DiGangi on drums. The trio is in the process of recording an album which should be available early 2025.
